Configuring Outlook E-mail Client

To configure your Outlook or any other e-mail client, you need to know your POP3 (Post Office Protocol 3) and SMTP (Simple Message Transfer Protocol) servers.

Log into your control panel;
Select Mail Info in the Mail Info menu.

- Configuring Outlook (POP before SMTP relay) STANDARD.
- Configuring with SMTP Auth relay.

Configuring Outlook

To configure this e-mail client with the POP before SMTP relay:

1. Open Outlook.
2.
In the menu bar, go to the Tools drop-down menu and select E-mail Accounts.  This page will appear.

3. On the page that shows, click Add under e-Mail and then select NEXT

The next page gives you options for the type of e-mail account you want.  You should probably select "POP3"
, unless  told otherwise.
POP 3 is the standard way to download your e-mail form our servers.

4. On the page that shows, enter the information as populated in this screen shot.  Please note that the name filed can appear in your receiver's address line.

Using our control panel system you should make sure that your user name is the full assigned username "@yourdomainname.com" to be entered as an e-mail address.  i.e. if my user name was JohnD, my user name in this Outlook setup field would be JohnD@mydomain.com.

5.  That is all that is required to setup an e-mail address.

6.  For the Advanced features, please consult your Microsoft Outlook menu.  In step 4 you may have noticed a "MORE SETTINGS" button.  There are a couple of things you should fill out in this section.

When first selected, you should see the tab page "General"

The MAIL ACCOUNT field represents what you will see in your own list of e-mail accounts.  This field you only see.

The Organization field is something sent in the message header to the recipient.  You are not required to fill this out.

REPLY E-MAIL
- it is recommended you complete this.  If someone receives your message, this is the address that will populate their e-mail client address field if they were to click the "reply to" button once they have read the message.

7.  The other tab pages in this section are generally for more advanced users.  If you require this information, please do not hesitate to contact our office directly.

To configure the other tab pages you can also refer to the notes we have under the advanced features of the Outlook Express client information we have here.
