Changing your DNS information |
|
This is one of the most important areas of your web presence. When
you make changes to your domain name record it can
normally take up to 72 hours to propagate the changes through the Internet.
It
is the main data base that is updated,
then various name servers connected through the Internet update in different
areas at different times. You may have one customer on the East coast
see things differently than one on the West, while you wait for the propagation
to happen. Please
prepare for this as you may need to copy your site files immediately to
the new server location in the event this happens. Please
keep in mind, what you see when you go to your web address is not necessarily
what all users will see.
